Folk Fest and stuff

Well slice and dice me ... I had so wanted to post some pix's of my weekend but alas I am unable to upgrade to Blogger Pro as they appear to be down, which frankly worries me and so I may have to start a website and link to my site but sheeshers that just seems like way to much work for a simple self-expression, blerg! Ah well, perhaps next week they will let me give them some money ... Weekend was fabulously exhausting ... music was amazing!! Norah Jones was wonderful, she is so incredibly beautiful and her voice is so full of depth, however, she really doesn't have any stage presence and while I absolutely love her music and adore her, she is a bit Norah boring on stage but ah well I just laid back and enjoyed the night sky and filled my ears with the sound : ) ... the Funk Brothers were oh so cool and ended up being my favorite! I have to say that I was definitely spoiled by my music fest experience in Comox though, where the line-up was incredible and the joy of being able to roll out of your tent, go for a swim, stroll over to the music, walk by the coolness of the river and mostly - be able to enjoy the company of about 5,000 people as opposed to the 30,000 of Edmonton's folkfest. Not to mention the sore butt I still sport from sitting on the hill : / but it was wonderful and I had a great time and hopefully will be able to post some pix's at some point ... It appears that I am a bit grumpy and full of complaints today so I will move on to the pads of my fingers and the agony I am feeling in just pressing on this keyboard which I unfortunately am forced to do all day. Who knew that learning the guitar was for masochistic people? Okay, I know, whine whine and they tell me that eventually EVENTUALLY my fingers will callus up and it will no longer hurt, so I will plug away ... pretty good incentive to keep you practicing every day, I say ... and it has only really been a week so what I am to expect. I suspect that eventually I will be able to play a song but right now its chord after chord after chord after scale (okay, well really I am not even technically doing scales yet, just finger practice warm up exercises and dammit they are hard!) My question is, given that I have such small fingers and I find this whole hitting the notes difficult, how on earth do men with big meaty hands manage? Sheesh! You wouldn't know it from what I've just written, but if you know me at all you know that I am Loving It ... absolutely Loving It ... I have fallen in love with my guitar, sigh ... and now ... back to work ... : / Oh sweet morning of relaxation to be hurtled through the abyss of random boardroom sprigs of coldness, air-conditioned illness floating across a fluorescent hue ... I long for the comfort of my space in candlelit delirium soaking up a computer of my own design, notes straying across a sunlit sky, racing down a highway of color and density, solidity and words of expression leaping from my lips ... unconstrained, leaping further away from the drudgery of semantic quagmire of information lost in words of pedagogic lust ... yes, I have spent too much time hurtling myself across a minds-eye brick laden wall overflowing with daisy's and honeysuckle to escape the beige swirl of patterned baseness and insignificant meanderings of ego ...
